In the deathly silence between the bombs, children’s pain and suffering rage on. Gaza is becoming a graveyard for thousands of children and for those still alive, it’s hell.
The war has brought nothing but misery and trauma to the lives of millions of children. At least 5,350 children in Gaza have been killed, while more than 8,663 children have been injured as a result of the conflict.
Homes and whole communities have been destroyed, whilst hospitals, once a bastion of hope for the sick and injured, have become another target for airstrikes and bombs.
Right now, a hunger crisis looms over Gaza as families cannot buy, or access, the basic food supplies they need to survive. Safe drinking water and sanitation supplies are also disrupted, meaning children could die from dangerous water-borne diseases.
Looking for a gift with a difference this Christmas? UNICEF Ireland’s range of Child Survival Gifts are the most powerful gifts you can give a loved-one.
A UNICEF gift can provide families and children in danger with the simple but powerful supplies they need to survive.
